Ohhhhh boy. Anyone else out there on WordPress? I am so frustrated with how complicated it is to get photos up on here! It took me hours to post the Minnie blog the other day. With this one I didn’t even try to post each individual photo, and am just throwing it all up here in this format. (And what, BTW, do you think about this format versus a vertical list of photos, all visible on one page? Feedback please!).
The first six pages are all clothes and shoes that are ether already listed or about to be listed in the shop. Page seven is some fun things Graham and Mycelia got at a church rummage sale on Saturday (I especially love the Peace In The Space Age pin, I had just been telling Graham that I want an old school NASA bumper sticker, but this is just as good!). Page eight is photos of the fam, and page nine showcases some of our homes interiors- the girl’s bedroom and my summer dresses! (Speaking of the photos of my summer dresses- another thing I hate about WordPress is that it cuts off the edges of photos and I don’t know how to fix that. You can click on any individual photo within the quadrant to make it bigger and ensure that you see the entire image).
Okay so, I really might need to move to Blogspot soon. WordPress may be a more sophisticated blog service but it takes waaay to much time to upload and organize photos. I truly dislike being on the computer (I am so sensitive to crazy electromagnetic energy- I swear sometimes I think that my mom’s big screen TV is trying to swallow me whole- and often get a headache and a bitchy attitude within minutes of sitting in front of a screen) and I strive to limit my time on it to only what’s necessary for Violet Folklore and a quick daily connection with loved ones. But I hate to “move” again too. Ah, we’ll see. Again, feedback please my little darlin’s.
If you’re moving on account of the photos, i wouldn’t recommend blogspot. About 6 months ago, they did something to their photo uploader which now means that formatting any text underneath a photo becomes virtually impossible. Sometimes text will come up next to the photo, sometimes way underneath. Sometimes two photos will randomly appear next to each other, sometimes not. I have tried every single html tag out there to try and regain some control over what is going on to no avail. So now when i’m uplaoding photos directly onto blogger I make sure all writing is above the pictures, which obviously isn’t ideal. I’ve actually started uploading pictures for which I don’t have copyright onto flickr, just so I can put pictures in the middle of text. I have no qualms with blogspot otherwise, but I really would think twice about moving because of the picture thing.
Sorry for ranty comment!
Franca´s last blog ..Blue flickr faves
the photos of the dresses on the mannequin in the light are amazing! so detailed and really beautiful.. <3
I use blogspot, and it seems to work out fine, you can move photos where you please from what I can tell. And then i could comment more quickly on your blog becaus e i wouldn’t have to type in my website and name, and blogspot has two settings an older simpler version and the new more options version, I like. by the love the thrifted items and that golden brown robe/dress!!*winter
okay i’m not through looking at all the pictures yet (and i’m excited to see them all, so far they’re gorgeous and i love all the new things for the shop!)but i just wanted to say i’m with you on the electromagnetic energy thing…i think! i never knew what it was, so i’m so glad you mentioned it but sometimes i get a bitchy attitude cropping up suddenly when i’m in front of my computer screen. i generally can’t even explain it, and i totally know it is my own damn fault for being on the computer too much but it is good to know what might be going on.
in other words, i shouldn’t even comment on blogspot/wordpress thing because i am so webby illiterate but i just wanted to say i have no problem with photos on blogspot. at least since they upgraded or whatever, i just upload a whole bunch of pictures at once, then do my typing and add/remove photos as needed. if you don’t like where one is placed you just remove it and it stays in the queue to be picked up when needed.
okay going to look at your pics now! then out to the sunshine pronto!
do you like your d60?
im gonna upgrade to a dslr soon…
More synchronized things; very much in my mind lately has been electro-magnetic vibrations from this blasted box. I particularly feel it in my ovaries(!), for the past few weeks I’ve used my computer heaps. Also, love love love NASA and the space program. We need serious face-nerd-out time together, you and I.
Now about the blog-stuff, I do think that you ought to consider blogger. I generally load stuff up to flickr and then drag it straight to blogger. It’s seriously the fastest.
Many hugs, I’m hoping to get a wee tiny package out to you soon.
Yeah, the photo situation here sounds really annoying, it shouldn’t be that difficult and I definitely prefer the set-up that you had in the previous post. That’s so weird that it automatically crops the photos like that.
The “peace in the space age” pin is like the coolest thing I’ve seen in awhile and I have that little mexi-dress in yellow, got it in Mexico, it was a little girl’s dress. Speaking of little girl’s stuff, I LOVE Mycie’s lil’ pink table and chair soooo much!
Hope you and your family are doin’ well pretty mama
